Those Blue Eyes Too Much to Handle

Those blue eyes

it was all I could do

to keep my head down

or trouble would brew

***

Those men with blue eyes

can drive me to drink

guess that’s better

than not being able to think

***

My knees are shaking

my pulse is off course

those eyes of his

he knows are the source

***

I’ll walk away quickly

and save my esteem

those blue eyes of his

I’ll save for my dreams

  1. Those kind scare the spumoni out of me. Run girl, run! My knees tremble at the memory. You nailed it. Plunk.

  2. I love the image and the poem….somehow they don’t quite fit given the poem lines are talking about ‘men’…but it doesn’t really impact the merit of the poem…just a random thought….very nice poem.

  4. The visual metaphor is very strong, as are the lyrics. I think this is one of your best :)
