Waiting for Knight…(Friday #FlashFiction)
I PONDERED…
The young woman who lived behind this door
What did she think when the man she loved rode off that fateful day?
It mattered not that he traversed fields and forest
nor that he slew a fierce dragon.
Her arms felt a cold remorse
in letting him leave without her favor
… a kiss

Love the photo. Alas, she let him leave without a kiss? She should feel remorse. He probably won’t come back. Good 55. I love the period.

The photo is gorgeous, Leslie. I love all the contrast of textures…
A wonderful 55. How on earth will his heart sustain itself without her kiss?
January 13, 2011 at 8:00 pm
I loved the pic too – can’t you imagine the hem of her robe caught in the door. I guess knights in real life were alot more resilient then the one’s we romanticize about.

I think nature and structures offer the two best subjects for texture and color. This one may end up in my sketch book

I can just see her standing on those steps watching him ride away. It is a great picture prompt!

My dear Leslie,
That knight, like my dear prince charming, is but a dream… when you need, really need- that kiss, you won’t get it… because those male beings have issues we’ll never get to understand- But they are great, OTH…
Hey-I’ve noticed you are not a follower of mine or have ‘me’ at your sidebar… how do you find me then?
LOL
Lots of love Sweet Woman from La Luna!

Some mornings in the school-and-going-off-to-wrok rush I almost forget to kiss my man good-bye. Glad I did not today. He is so precious.
And I see someone has a cute new Blogger profile photo! YOU!

Hopefully his dragon will be the slain and he the slayer, and not vice versa. Nice 55. Have a great weekend.
January 14, 2011 at 5:53 pm
Oh I like that version. We will never know. The door wouldn’t tell
January 14, 2011 at 7:59 pm
Ah… the tales some doors hide!!
Now why did he have to leave without that kiss?? That was just unfortunate…
Thankfully, the hubby and I don’t forget these important matters.. (whheww!)
Hugs to you, Moonie!
