Those Eyes Like the Sea #poem
Yesterday -I looked into those eyes like the sea
you pulled me into
a time when our love
you said “would always be”
***
A smile ~ one of knowing
crossed your face
competing with the waves
ones I longingly chased
***
Salt water crashed upon my heart
you teased my salty curls
kissed my face
loving your girl
***
how did I end in the sand
at waters gate?
you and the seafoam
encircling me in watery lace
***
conch calling to the wind
lovers in the waves
tossing on the sand
a message to send
***
shaking the seafoam
from my head
I gaze into those swirling eyes
they always could mesmirize

Awakened by a dream #poetry
In the darkest hour of night
when sleep had its strongest grasp
under the silvery glow
of a radiant moon
if you listened you would hear
a soft fluttering
gentle steps
as she quietly slipped in
**
she neither needed nor wanted
more than the moon
she found what she sought
a chest barely rising and falling
up turned lips lit by the ripple of light
endeared to her dreamer
her hands painting on a warm canvas
***
In a startle, his eyes opened
until…
It was she
his dream
she was all he could think of when awake
she always came in his deepest sleep
their dance was magical
only witnessed by the moon
***
she slipped out quietly
contented sigh exhaled
his lips relished the memory
another perfect dream
“Jusqu’ à la prochaine fois” she whispered
as she tiptoed into the night

Never to See You – Jamais Encore #poetry
Ce que fera je fais…
Si je ne vous voit jamais encore?
The question was what…
what would I
what will I do
when you leave
you leave and
never
return?
Life giving oxygen leaves
in quick blasts
at the very thought
thought
you gone
my world
vacant
*
An empty bed
empty hand
empty heart
empty…
*
The first breath comes
second in succession
painfully
filling the empty spaces
A painless moment
accompanied by another
gasping for another breath
hoping for another breath
pleading for refuge from the pain
death of my heart
replaced with life
life is happening
life will happen

Looking for You #poem
I look at you in the looking glass
It’s the image portrayed for me
mesmerizing and witty too
but something missing
I just can’t see
*
I keep looking
hoping for more
time will surely reveal
your heart, your mind
what’s behind those closed doors
*
Grabbing at the frame
do I even know your name?
what are you?
who are you?
Are you Real???
*
As I look at your image
a tear mirrors
the one falling down my cheek
no more words
that I can speak
*
Alas I turn away
I love the face
the mind
the heart
but I can’t get past the frame
The Last Time #poem
The last magnetic gaze
poignant
perfect
***
Time refused to stand still
moving
changing
***
Only love she’d ever know
precious
enraptured
***
He kissed her face
passionate
urgent

The Secret of the Moon (#oneshotwednesday #poetry)
There’s a secret there
just behind the gibbous moon
her smile hides
don’t look too soon
***
Do you see her lips
the way they curl
men’s hopes and dreams
meant to unfurl
***
Bacchanal display
of love and such
all conveyed
in a moon-lit touch
***
She’ll dance and sing
for you alone
but you will never
have her heart of stone
***
Too late for you
for you’ve consumed
imbibed the golden draught
of the elusive moon

A Silent Kiss #poem
Placed just here
tis like a rose
fragrant bouquet
upon the nose
***
placed just there
tis subtle and sweet
some say it’s
good enough to eat
***
placed just here
spice from other lands
spark and tingle
to one’s hands
***
placed just there
’tis perfect not missed
singular mission of
my silent kiss

No More Color #poetry
Vibrant blues, exotic reds
interwoven into the fabric
of each day
as we as lovers played
***
He said I would know
when the last leaf falls
the final warm ray
no more color on display
***
Where there are only tears
to brighten my day
then I will know
you’ve gone away
***
Lifeless trees
sky turned gray
sun is spent
love failed to stay
Thanks to Aapo Haapanen for the photograph
The Final Call #poem
Look at the stage
for the final bow
as the cast says adieu
to the last show
***
Look into the sky
as the last of the sparks
on the forth of July
fall to the ground
***
Look in the lake
smooth as glass
as the ripple
circles its last
***
Look in the eyes
of a lover
the tear that falls
on the final goodbye

Phantom Pain
I feel your warm embrace
loving pressure
warming
and assuring
***
Molten gold
pouring forth
to pay homage
to your love
***
Ebulient Love
overflowing
in its fury
capsizing into glory
***
Laser beam
brightness
flows
between our souls
***
The sizzle
the spark
just the hole
burning in my heart
and remnants
of you
Looking for… ( #poetry)
Seeking approval of…
a lover
a friend
an intellect
***
no one to…
gaze
into my eyes
at the stars
into my soul
***
Tell me…
I’m talented
speak words of
love
meaning
***
Won’t someone share…
life with me
dreams
todays
tomorrows
***
Come write a …
symphony
a treatise
a legacy
a love song
with me
***
Please find me…
Misty Images (#poetry)
Thick, grey pre-dawn mist
creeps along
a barren topography
soil depleted
of summer’s abundance
brown, yellow,red
reminders of sweet fruits
***
a form emerges through the mist
strength in his stride
strong, capable hands
tenor tones that float in my mind
the curl of those lips
forms a…
***
Was that you in the mist?
Did our fingers talk
in undertones of love?
Was there knowing
in each expression
or did the mist
create a mirage
in my heart?

The Ends …
She wanted to believe in…
his candy coated words
She had to…
Last straws
ends of ropes
the vestiges of home
Hope was a four letter word
until it was replaced with another
L-O-V-E
She made…
one last time attempt
to believe
in
“you and me”
When she removed
the rose-colored glasses
there was
only “me”
holding this…

Telling him with a kiss (poem)
She opened her lips
to say something
his fingertips pressed
gently against them
**
His eyes spoke for him
stating what he wanted
“It wasn’t that important,”
her eyes twinkled
**
A playful question
sat on his brow
“but if it’s important
you should…”
***
Her lips caressed his
telling him
what she needed
to say
A Moment in Time… (A Poem)
Going back in time…
I close my eyes
dreaming that you
are mine
***
For a moment in time…
I place my fingertips
softly on your
lips
***
For this time…
I whisper your name
in the pouring
rain
***
When time stood still…
we became
part of each other
as one
***
For all time…
you are mine
and I am
yours…
I Died Today
inscribed permanently
on the headstone
of my heart?
*
“She died an untimely death
her heart broken
For him she will
eternally grieve”
*
You could not find the place
where our love could abide
you made the effort
for us -you strived
*
Hold me dear
plant one more kiss
lay me in the grave
of lost tomorrows
*
Place flowers on the grave
of our hopes and dreams
remember – I died
dreaming
of you
*

Another Day to Love (Poetry)
He held out his hand
It was too late for words
apologies were
expired
*
She could see the
the horizon of another day
feel the arms
of acceptance
*
What had he done
to deserve this?
Life had been busy
he forgot to love
*
What had she done
to finally be free?
Cried, ached
hoped and dreamed
Thanks for the rose in the snow lil_miss_whit http://www.flickr.com/photos/serendipity_photography/3278674633/
Sands of Time (Poetry)
As hope recoils
and all is lost
I look back
on a time past
**
Pictures of
you and I
we love and laugh
as winds blow by
*
Blue eyes twinkle
reflect the sea
the shimmering
between you and me
*
Many sands
since then have poured
your life and mine
beyond the shore
***
My dear -
why did the tide recede
remove our love
banish our need?
**
There are times
by the sea
I dream and think
of you and me

Remembering… Her (One ShotWednesday)
Watching…
He stood on the edge
never again to hold her
nor call her “mine”
*
Yearning…
for arms never again held
lips never
kissed
*
Cringing
from memory of loss
the day he
pushed her away
*
Remembering…
days he called her
held her close
before he
Left …

Today starts another great One Shot Wednesday. I am always thrilled at the number of poets who come by and share their work. My writing has improved because of the fine work submitted here. Enjoy One Shot
Turn Around (One Shot Wednesday Poetry)
Don’t
call out my name
reach for my hand
let me walk
take a stand
Leave
Go away
don’t say those words
I grapple each day
with the sting inside of me
Now
turn around
the final time
Tears of yours
merge with mine
The dance of love is intricate, flowing, and sometimes stopped mid-stream. Enjoy another week of One Shot wonders. Poetry in the blogsphere just keeps getting better.
Thank you to a4gpa – what a great dance shot

Rotations (by guest poet David Wilkins)
This poem is written by a dear friend David. He is presently in High School and has many plans for the future. I hope he realizes his dreams. I know he would love your feedback and comments. This is his first shot at what I hope is a long line of creative expression.
