The Cracks of Life (Flash Fiction 160)

“What slips through the cracks of Life?

Do you know?”

“Perhaps~ feelings,

regularly~ promises,

sometimes ~the truth.

Too often a tear

or two.”

He caught one on his fingertip

Can’t be replaced… (Flash Fiction)

Today she lost it.

She had done all she could

to take care of it.

It was the last one.

It could never be replaced.

A  tear

fell

as she was fitted

for dentures.

Thank you to Monkey Man who each week hosts a great group of 160s. Yep it’s short. A challenge for those of us who can’t say anything in less than 10,000 words. Join us for the fun!

So close yet … (Flash Fiction 55 )

So close…

like a gentle whisper

sadly…

it seems

a chasm away

***

far…

as a continent

yet…

space nor time

cannot divide

***

near…

to feel the pounding

in your chest

but…

unable to give

breath of life

***

far away…

as forever

never…

to be mine

day you slipped away

Go to the G-Man and read the fabulous Flash Fiction on that site.

55 words to say “I love you”

As the moon light reflected

on her smooth tanned skin

I asked myself,

“How can I do better than the moon?”

It radiates her beauty without a word.

I did my best

“Come my darling – love me by the light of the moon.”

She touched my lips where the moon was glowing and whispered…

Let me absorb your pain (Flash Fiction55)

My dear one -You are so petite and sensitive

When you are in pain your body writhes

I cringe when I hear you cry

You are my sweetheart

I love you

I hate knowing that you are hurting

Come let me wrap my arms around you

Sink into me and let me absorb your pain

***

My little dog Ginger is so tender. When she is in pain she yelps.

With all she has endured, by being a street dog, who knows what is ailing her.

Empty nights

gray days

she waited patiently

hope in hand

She imagined

Tall handsome man

Blue eyes and kind

bringing years’ worth of gifts

Alimony was behind

She flew into his arms

Tears glistened

Daddy was home

For this day she had been waiting

The Edge of the Earth (Flash Fiction)

I was there before I knew it

The edge of the earth

“How do I hold on?” I gasped

For there is nothing at the edge

but an empire of emptiness, magnificent to behold

It beckons to the onlooker- unaware. There is a type of danger there.

Alas – nothing there to love and hold
