Taste of Death #cancer #poetry

I tasted death

one day you see

it was a cancer

consuming me

The bloom of life

cruelly peeled away

fresh softness gone

health unwilling to stay

Life please

keep your hold on me

don’t go yet

this is my plea

There are those

for whom I  care

can’t do without

more love to share

I haven’t gone

there is more time

give me breath

a heart to shine

As a writer, it is a thrill to help children who want to learn. As a bio major and nurse, it is exciting to use my knowledge to encourage young minds to love science. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 10 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. 1. Your poem reminds me of the brevity of life and how we must relish each moment we can….giving love to those around us and doing random acts of kindness to brighten someone else’s day. Be well my friend!
