The Lover’s Song #oneshotwednesday

Awakened in the morning

serenaded by my favorite sound

“I love you so my darling

you are my heart’s desire”

***

Rambling through my day

softly humming my lover’s song

clinging to the phrase

“I am his heart’s desire”

***

A moment that I take

I dream of us awake

passion there is still

“you are my heart’s desire”

***

Prepared to meet his gaze

fragrance fills the air

reminders of my love

hanging here and there

***

Eyes caught in candlelight

there’s longing in my song

“You are my heart’s desire”

you are where I belong…

***

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. In 2019, we have an exciting project. We are working with a team developing elementary curriculum for African children. As a writer, it is a thrill to help children who want to learn. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 10 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2012 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the (quiet) originator of the idea and co-producer of One Stop Poetry. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - thanks for stopping by.

  1. Oooo!

I do like the frangrance part of a good-smellin’ heart’s desire!

    LOVE the image.

Hope your day’s rambling is filled with smiles, laughs and sunshiney California biking bike miles, to name but 3!

    xoxo

Well, I have those pots awaiting my songs….

But first, a bath. Perchance even to wash my face. And brush my teeth. But not at the same time. 🙂

    xoxo

  2. Don’t ask me why– cause there’s no profusion of ‘hot’ words–but, THIS IS HOT STUFF

It’s the thought which make ‘hot’
    The four-letter words…NOT!
    A goood Wednesday ‘One-Shot’!

    PEACE!

    1. ahhh you don’t see what’s hanging here and there – using your imagination is half the delight
      especially by candle light
      try it some time

  3. It seems I need a little of what you’re getting 😉 Nice one shot my friend, the repetition of the lines just underpins the strength of connection between the narrator and her subject matter.

  4. Moonie, are you trying to gaslight me? I followed the link from One Shot and ended up at a poem about doggerel. I wanted to say “never trust a man who wears a toque”, but couldn’t find where to comment, though there were 49 comments already. So I reloaded the whole blog and found…this. I’m dizzy.
