Our Beach #oneshotwednesday

Early dawn awakens

calling us to her

waves recede their motion

revealing white treasure

*

unveiled  each saucy look

Wide eyed as a child

taking in the picture

things so tame yet wild

*

birds with stilt-like skinny legs

scurry dodge the flow

She knows us and she smiles

little ones on the go

**

lovers in their own world

the place where it all starts

hoping never for an end

passion gives  its spark http://wp.me/pDORj-1GI

**

wonderous moments in the fog

fingers always clasped

bare foot momentary prints

they  never seem to last

**

Seashells never found before

driftwood sadly bare

relics of those broken hearts

dreams ,  never shared

***

we take a walk along our beach

and reach toward the sand

she quickly reaches back at us

with her foam covered hand

***

I grew up and lived at or close to the beach. The world there is free, clean and wild. It always beckons some of us back for more.

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. In 2019, we have an exciting project. We are developing elementary curriculum for Ugandan children. As a writer, it is a thrill to help children who want to learn. Along with the curriculum, we hope to develop simple fictions about Uganda for the children to read at school. Trust me books are in short supply. We will use our trusted story tellers: a butterfly and a lion to make the stories come alive. Stay tuned as Bethany and Me put pen to paper. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 10 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2012 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the (quiet) originator of the idea and co-producer of One Stop Poetry. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - thanks for stopping by.

    1. We had a fantastic hoaidly at Beachside during early September. The house was equipped with everything we needed a real home from home and was spotlessly clean. The location was perfect, being right on the beach but also a short walk to shops, cafes and a pub. The footbridge across the River Adur to Shoreham town is currently being replaced, but there is a regular shuttle bus in service. Thanks, Rae we can’t wait to go back! lablos

    2. Thanks for the new things you have exesopd in your writing. One thing I’d like to reply to is that FSBO human relationships are built after a while. By bringing out yourself to owners the first weekend their FSBO will be announced, prior to masses commence calling on Thursday, you create a good link. By sending them instruments, educational elements, free reviews, and forms, you become a good ally. Through a personal interest in them and also their problem, you make a solid connection that, many times, pays off if the owners opt with a realtor they know in addition to trust preferably you actually.

  1. There is such life on the beach. Your piece is a wonderful reflection of life. I have no doubt Anne Morrow Lindbergh (author of Gift From the Sea) would also have enjoyed your poem.

  2. Leslie,
I really enjoyed the animation you gave to the ocean and beach. It was a simply magical poem. Makes me want to head to the beach right now. There is just something about beaches that brings a smile to my face and probably everyone elses too. Thank you for sharing.

  3. The beach always beckons for me. I absolutely adore the place. Growing up surrounded by water and beachfront (hey Michigan!), it’s hard not to appreciate it in all its beauty. A lovely and scenic – and romantic for it – presentation you put before us Moonie!

Love those lines… You captured so well the heart’s draw to the ocean. I miss it, I used to live in San Diego, such beauty in your words it takes me there once more. Hugs.
