Once Strangers

Long blue shadows over frozen white lake

milieu of life

averted eyes in each place

feeling so alone

*

holding nothing

reaching fingertips into space

no one there

*

a stranger in my home

poetry fills emptiness

reaching for more

*

kindness grows in words

smiles radiate in the light

darkness recedes

The prompt for today at Carpe Diem is Strangers. Have you felt as if you were a stranger in a familiar place? There is a comfort in the communities that share a common interest.
