Surviving Winter #poetry #photography

fawn

you lie so still

nature’s companion

returned to the dust

beneath loamy undergrowth

surrounds you

you disappear into the ground

you to spend this day alone

foraging

and soon very soon

memories of your childhood

evaporate into the day

and you are left

with no memory of why you do this

at all

  1. Nor does he care…life as a fawn is simple. Lovely poem. Oh!
In the passage “you spend this day alone….fotaging” I assume you meant foraging. I just thought it a typo but I had to think about it for a moment. I love the poem!
