Leslie, I remember how important that man is to you. Thankfully he fulfilled that father role to you, which likely made a very great difference in your life. It is rather beautiful that his ashes were scattered on the sea. I love “your spirit set free.” Beautiful, my friend.

Dear Leslie
Your loss through pain
is your fathers gain
so pop champagne.
In all you do
a love shines through
the love he knew.
A daughters heart
a fathers shoulder
who be the boulder?
This rock of depend
much more than friend
and right too the end.
Now set adrift on sea
under no loch nor quay
be his spirit sailing free.
Gone on new explore
though the exited door
to find that distant shore
but not forever more.
Tis how it is and must be faced
Not forgotten nor replaced
none recyclable in haste
for there isn’t any waste.
Everything came to conclusion
we be under no illusion nor delusion
that this death is our exclusion,
death is merely an intrusion.
Just as sure as paper meets with pen
who knows where who knows when
ne’er the twain shall meet again?…
