The Crow #haiku #poetry

kare eda ni karasu no tomarikeri aki no kure

on a bare branch
a crow has stopped
autumn dusk

your cries fill the sky

leaves shudder from the chill

red and gold bonfires

The bird that best represents autumn is the Crow today’s Carpe Diem prompt.

  1. __Moonie… Nifty! Crows are one of my favorite birds, such survivors. I refer to them as “street cleaners,” or “commuters” as they travel on to the next farm fields; your poem so fits, as around the camp-fire we sit. This, my old minded and humble echo… the harrow waiting to smoothen next spring’s pre-planting furrows .

    crows perch
    on an abandoned harrow
    this harvest
