A Wish #birthday #poetry

happy birthday radiance

candles light upon a cake

symbolizing all your years

and with one single blow

a wish for mankind you will make

one – your first in life you’ve just begun

two- you stumble forward tripping too

three – you reach and climb up trees

four – you read and want for more

five – so grown up and alive

ten- adventure stories spin

twenty – master of your destiny

seventy – Sudoku if you can only remember where you put the tea

Today at Poet’s United the prompt is Birthday in honor of Martin Luther King’s Birthday.

  1. I greatly appreciate the enthusiasm that you put into this poem, and the style of counting down the years really is a great addition to the memories. The Sudoku part was exceptionally funny and ironic in my opinion. Really nice!
