What’s Super? #Supertuesday #poetry

shattered flag

Today there’s a parade

elephants, donkeys two by two

neither get along

both wear red white and blue

everyone gets to choose

pick from left or right

media makes the news

liberty’s wintering light

I stand behind a group

they all have the same name

each given a ballot card

some have more to gain

what about one voice

it used to be so free

the birds in coming spring

now sing in corporate “C”

we’ve seen this before

summer storms draw near

look into their eyes

the mud is getting clear

Super used to mean grand

losing more and all

tattered is our flag

ready for the fall

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. In 2019, we started working with an E. African team developing elementary curriculum for African children. As a writer, it is a thrill to help children who want to learn. As a bio major and nurse, it is exciting to use my knowledge to encourage young minds to love science. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 10 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - thanks for stopping by.

  1. It’s a very thoughtful poem, seeing the election is knocking at the door. Who will succeed who will lose, is a question in every ones mind. I of course will watch and pray for the right candidate to win. 🙂

  2. Hi Moondust – see your process from over the pond – I can completely resonate with this … good luck America may the best person for the world ahead win .. cheers Hilary

  3. __Deep verse Moonie, lovit_! This, an adjustment I left as a comment at a friends blog, is a new entry in my scribble book; a metaphoric situation and we voters are the swimmers.

__Politics, a river of opinion that leaves facts on the far shore line, and fraud on the near; the swimmer chooses where to dry off. _m
