one blue cup each
flows easily through her hands
dry river beds
laughter’s pure reflection
sing song they learn A B Cs
*
so young to be old
internal Acholi’s strength
Nile clouds my vision
*
If I share a handful of their giggles, would you share a handful of precious water?

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. One of the many exciting things I've had the honor of doing is writing with an E. African team that is developing elementary curriculum for African children. As a writer, it is a thrill to help children (on all continents) who want to learn.
I've been part of the blogging community for more than 10 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community.
I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers.
There are many facets to this moon - thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for a nice poem, very sad the way we waste water when so many in the world have very little. At the moment it is pelting down you can’t even hear yourself speak for the echo of it on the roof.
Thanks for posting, appreciated very much.

Hi Leslie – water essential, rain something that comes with the restless wind … we need to remember how important it is to so many in the world … lovely, reflective words – we should reflect as we open our taps … cheers Hilary
