Share a Story #children #lifeinUganda #acholi

Between  big pages

turn little minds

fairies of every kind

watch the spark

imagination ignites

Dragons bright and dark

animals climb trees upside down

little boys’ arms are wings

no smile becomes a frown

knights get big and golden

kings big and small

words create a kingdom

giants from clouds fall

The dragon got away before I could get his picture but he left a clue behind in his big foot prints.

Never stop dreaming or imagining. By all means never stop sharing these things with a child!!!

Miss all of you. I have a morning of so I am writing after weeks. We are enjoying amazing times to teach and tell stories to Acholi children. These village children are so bright and are catching up quickly!!

Thank you for visiting Moondustwriter. In 2019, we started working with an E. African team developing elementary curriculum for African children. As a writer, it is a thrill to help children who want to learn. As a bio major and nurse, it is exciting to use my knowledge to encourage young minds to love science. I've been part of the blogging community for more than 10 years. Some old timers may remember the award winning (2011 Twitter Shorty ) blog community - One Stop Poetry. I was the co-producer of that fast growing blog community. I am a published writer, poet, artist and photographer. I have written, as well as edited, for periodicals, radio, blogs and fellow writers. There are many facets to this moon - thanks for stopping by.

  1. Hi Leslie – thanks for posting and letting us know about your corner of the world and the brightness you are able to give the children (and no doubt their parents) of the Acholi … they are always so keen and eager to join in the world around and spread their wings … cheers Hilary

  2. Leslie, we have lost touch a bit…… new email address is, if you get a chance to email. I am right now watching a film called Facing Darkness, about a Christian organization fighting the Ebola virus in Liberia, and am thinking of you. I see you must have finally reached Africa and are now in Uganda, from these recent posts. I would like to talk to you about it, and maybe we can do another feature at Poets United about the work you are doing???? I am not sure I still have your email address. Let me know how you’redoing, okay? How your heart must be filled with joy, being where you so longed to be.
