Search #poetry #blogginganniversary

around the bend

What are you searching for? We are all looking for something: love,  fame, a change, meaning to life.  Don’t lose yourself as you are searching. Some of us do and then frantically have to find our way back. If you are a writer, express yourself and keep it fresh. If you are a painter, give yourself to the canvas. An athlete, put your heart and soul into the training. For every challenge keep aiming toward the finish line.

Simply put: search but don’t get lost!!!!

Looking for the start

path hasn’t been used in years

so many endings

I created a haibun from my very first wordpress blog post  Six years ago today! Not much has changed – I like so many are still searching. If anything, the answers are more clouded and frayed. And thank you to dear friends (you know who you are) – you have kept me inspired when giving up looked like the only option.

“Seek the LORD, All you humble of the earth Who have carried out His ordinances; Seek righteousness, seek humility Perhaps you will be hidden In the day of the LORD’S anger.”      ~ Zephaniah 2:3

Plop… #friendship #haiku

autumn ripples

walk river edges

 circles ripple and collide

full of skipping stones

This haiku the theme River Stones is dedicated to each of the fantastic people (friends) at Chevrefeuille’s Carpe Diem.

This Haiku is full of symbols: River edges = life, ripple = friendship, skipping stones=haiku

Thanks to Kristjaan Panneman for creating an environment full of warm ripples and skipping stones.

Moon by ShironekoEuro

Thanks to each of you who have encouraged me (since 2009)  to write and re-discover my love for poetry and find the art of haiku a delight.

If you know anything about me, you know I am a writer (children’s primarily) and an editor. This blog and the people I have been so fortunate to meet here have inspired me to express myself through poetry and more recently through photography and haiku.

Each of you will never know how much I appreciate your encouragement through the years. I give you a thank you from the depth of my heart.

Here’s to another year of inspiration and art with friends – Cheers!!

This poem (updated) is the first poem I posted on this WordPress blog. The original is archived here.

La Luna she is clothed
shimmery ivory white
she dances and she sways
the ritornelle at night

She gazes past her shoulder

reflection does she see
beams a fanciful knowing
an ageless beauty

All who gaze upon her

delight at that profile

at evening lights their pathway

with her glowing smile

La Luna is enshrouded

cloaked in deepest  dark nest
surrounded by a silence
shivering  emptiness

No audience to marvel

her beauty in the wings
No chorus as she dances
she alone – no voice to sing

Read This in the Morning #poetry

Read this in the morning

as you push away my hair

my eyes are not yet open

fingers gently care

Read this in the morning

as you pull away at dawn

the coffee’s set and brewing

the haze is not yet gone

Read this in the morning

as you steady climb the hill

traffic keeps your focus

leaving me against your will

Read this in the morning

as you slide into your seat

your love is softly dreaming

our lips in them will meet

Read this in the morning

smile at my picture there

our love like a flower blooming

life together gladly shared
