Dance #uganda #atozchallenge

Orphan’s voices lift to the stars

can’t keep feet from moving

notes merge harmonious

large is the circle of our song

mimicking children’s motions

I don’t want the song to end

laughter young and old

fills the skies

tired we sit on mats

our hearts still singing

as we do crafts

 Jesus is smiling

The video sharing the beauty of the Acholi culture.

I know that these children at Mercy Home have come from hard and lonely places. We are greeted each day with smiles of  love and welcome and we end the day Dancing!

Enjoy the A to Z challenge this month!

Im also tagging on to Poets United prompt April. Spring and April give cause to dance with the blossoms.

The Power of Music #poetry

musical outlines

stopped midstream

notes drown out the chaos

brass makes waves

*

the musical challenge

merge voices into one

I weave with a blue thread

you weave with a red

the result is wild purple

the moment pulls at you

when perfect harmony meets

anticipation grew

the moment hot with fury

the crowd, none can speak

notes soar for a moment

rise are at their peak

there is in that moment

wave’s untapped energy

voices in perfect satisfaction

base clef synergy

For any of you who have been musicians there is that bubble that you are in when the baton is raised – the world is suspended  and you the musician have this magical power for one endless moment..

This poem is written for Poets United the prompt for the week is Power.

Let love speak my heart

what music does it sing

classical your notes

Classical your notes

a symphony of loves sounds

playing just for me

Playing just for me

you stroke the instruments chords

lead me as we sing

The prompt over at Poet’s United Verse First is Reaction. As a musician, I react (or respond) to music. Music evokes a feeling or a memory. Often I react with a song or harmony in my head.

Making Music. #flashfiction

He was going north to no where. She was going south to every where. They met somewhere. How it happened they would never know but for one brief interlude they made music. She sang classical; he wailed jazz. When it was finished and they packed their instruments, they knew – they had become harmony and melody.

Thanks to G-Man for weekly providing a forum for people to write flash fiction
