ripples of music

(archived 9/5/ 2012)

You have to fall in love

and lose it

to really know love at all

you have to wish on a star

and hold it

to catch the dust as it falls

you have to give

with your whole heart

to embrace the weak and the small

you have to be pierced

through the middle

to understand the power of pain

you have to live life

to the fullest

to understand loss and gain

you have to throw caution

to four winds

to dance with life’s love in the rain

should this moon be waited for by sitting or lying down …? I calculate with my fingers

by moonlit waters

memories caress the shore

blue moon dance

casting a pebble

blue waters ripple outward

smile reflection

Ripples of Compassion #haiku #kindness #poetry #photography

the smallest act of kindness can have a ripple effect on our world

Ripples of Life

Your outstretched hand

reaching toward wounded soul

fingertips meet

*

fingertips meet

heart warmed with kindness’ smile

reflect in the sky

*

reflect in the sky

ripples of  compassion

circle the earth

It is so refreshing that the smallest act of kindness can have a ripple effect

Thanks to Kristjaan at Carpe Diem for prompting us to reflect upon compassion.
