Montage of Sadness #haiku #photography #art

we have become one

in our sorrows and sadness

sharing pain’s path

***

sadness of the day

sucks color and all light

leaving dark decay

***

believe my sadness

revelation of life’s soul

fallen no rising

World Race #atoz #flashfiction #Rodin

I didn’t realize there was a world race for the discovery which my colleagues and I had spent the better part of our lifetime researching.

Yes there could be money, recognition…

but that is not why

Does a singer have to sing?

an artist sculpt or paint?

We had to discover

we were so close…

My world as a child was the think tank of Stanford University. My mind filled with science. While most kids were putting together Tinker Toys, I was studying bones (really old bones.) I got my break – the opportunity to work in medical research starting at the age of 13 (they kinda fudged on my age.) I saw and learned much. Scientific discoveries seemed to be made every day…

This is a flash fiction for my friend Galen aka Mr Know it All who has been in the hospital. Get well soon G-man.

and this is “W” for the wrap up week of the A to Z challenge.

Epitaph of Love #poetry #flashfiction

One

 last

silent tear falls

“WHY?”

whispered echoes in the trees

*

Sculpted beauty

 stone cold

veined marble

“here lies…

…cherished by many

…embraced by few …

thought of passionately  by one”

*

you held me

 too soon released

love  longed for

 world  dreamt of

gone the moment

 darkness slipped

her icy fingers

 wiped free of guilt

dagger’s voice

 entombed

This fiction evolved from a heartfelt epitaph of lost love to an epitaph of one wronged in love. I hope you enjoyed the ending…

The sculpture is an amazing commissioned piece entitled  “Asleep”  by talented Australian artist Peter Schipperheyn

I pulled this from an archive that was submitted to:  G-Man’s Friday Flash Fiction Fun Fest and the A to Z  April writing challenge for the letter “E.

I cannot use

words to express

no rhyme no reason

so sad

I confess

**

For I have sworn

duly so

to not reveal my heart

but this you

know

***

Were I able

I’d sing a song

dance in the moonlight

all night

long

***

In our eyes

there’d be no trace

in sorrow

or sadness

there is no place

***

Gladness and laughter

would fill each line

spilling in verse

no sense

of time

*

But I am speechless

yes it is so

for I am bound

from romance

sad –  I know

Michelangelo is my favorite sculptor. This piece (one of the captive series)  has so much feeling.

The Man of Stone #flashfiction

That look  of his takes my breath away

the strong silent type they always say-

“seems to know more. “

Then what’s  in store?

That  man with the gaze

I’ll have to go aways

to hear the words I long to hear

“come close hold me dear”

though a man of stone

I am never alone

Another week of 55ing with the man who is no stone but rather the host from coast to coast. Join us as we ply our trade with a few words.  55 Friday Flash Fiction
