I dot my eyes
tears continue to fall
smiles and sounds start to dim
their imprint lays on my heart
the beat of love calls within
tho it hurts to say “goodbye”
tomorrow’s hope is in my hand
I wiggle its fingers
I dot my eyes
warmed by the setting Ugandan sun
The train hurries on
I chance to catch days descent
from my window
From my window
sun unfurls his fiery robe
water rippled glow
Water rippled glow
nature performs in grandeur
I a mere spectator

Earth please catch me
I have fallen from the sky’s tree
clouds were helpless
in their grasp
my leaving too sudden
are you prepared
for my crackling orange
converging on dark earth
a heart broken
patched with glue
who was to know that the glue would never hold
believing that she possessed an unpatchable heart
she walked the earth
much like the headless horseman
the heart kept beating
and reached out to a band of children who also could not find the right kind of heart glue
a song was written
in and for those hearts
it continues to be sung
and the song keeper
never looking back
realizing the heart is being repaired with each touch into the life of someone hurting
it now glows with the realization that was its purpose
I will add this p.s.
twice in one year I was told I had several cancers and one which was untreatable. At first I was afraid, until people near and far (many I never knew before and may never see again) offered their prayers, kindness, love. Two days ago I got a phone call – there is nothing to report/ everything is fine. It’s gone! I thank so many for their prayers and my God for His Grace and I look to the sky and dance and sing!!!!

Captivated by the warmth of your light.
Waves scintillate with your tropical colors.
You lavish the last of your rays on my upturned face
on this bright winter day.
I am spoiled to live in this world with the sea
The waves roar in my heart
The breeze plays with my hair
The coast is beauty~ a daily work of art

Thanks to Monkey Man for hosting his fast and furious rendition of Flash Fiction. What can you write in 160?
What can you say about the perfect palm of a baby
There’s nothing I can say about this beauty either except
wish I were there!!!
