Photo Haiku 1 #photography #haiku

blood-red

There is something satisfying in creating an abstract that inspires a haiku. The photo uses a mirror effect. My hands (at the top) were caught in the image as I was photographing an expiring red tulip.

Bouquet for Her #poetry #photography

I circled her fresh face with my fingertips

ruby red were her luscious lips

spring her blossom ever green

awaken not from this dream

summer harsh it takes the glow

dew’s gone, nothing will grow

our love languish in her eyes

 robbing heat  I ever despise

colors change,  bouquet of woe

her faded lips her time I know

nothing lasts, she is so pale

catch the fall, of her I’ve failed

tulip-heart

 brightens my day

seasons flow like water

can’t catch red petals

Today’s prompt at Poet’s United is Appreciation. I have a recent love of red tulips. Sadly tulips do not last.

Under the Tulip Tree #poetry

magnolia bloom

Two lips meet beneath spring

dancing in moon’s light

 love is serenading

each day appears more bright

years pass, colors fade

hands once always clasped

 feelings stored

in moth eaten past

Under pink blossoms

 veiled in a mist

am I your joy

or prefer love desist

I can no more see

what you meant to say

in eyes that once told me

more than two lips conveyed

red tulips

Raping Spring #poetry

http://cherishwords.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/tulip.jpg

another flower was trampled just the other day

beautiful, young, bright like spring

a temptation to the taker

taunting her

brushing aginst her bloom

smelling her

but not too close

until the right time

when she would …

open her beauty for him

desire his praise

a draught so sweet

he sipped deeply

then tore the petals

threw them away

walking down the pathway

toward the next fresh tulip
